Virginia Frances Hess

Honaker, VA – Virginia Frances Hess, age 85, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 8, 2022 with her loving and devoted husband by her side. Born December 2, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Robert Vance and Rhoda Vance Howington. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Virginia loved the Lord with all her heart and is at peace in His presence.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her sons: Willard Dean Hess and Michael Foster Hess; sisters: Sarah Elizabeth Bates, Mary Jane Knowler, Betty Sue Rose; brothers: Robert Lee Vance, David Edward Vance, Paul Frederick Vance; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years: Burke Hess; daughter: Deanna Pheebe Rowe and husband Chris of Honaker, VA; son: Sammy Hess and wife Sharon of Rosedale, VA; sister: Charlotte Hensley and husband Bill of Lebanon, VA; daughter-in-law: Cathy Hess of Honaker, VA; grandchildren: Sam Hess and wife Vickie, Amanda McGlothlin and husband Brian, Jason Rowe and wife Brianna, Justin Rowe and wife Amanda, Adam Hess and wife Jessica, Aaron Hess and wife Brittney, Alania Sykes and husband Daniel; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted 2 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in the Comb- Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Steve Lester officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2 pm prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
