Thomas McKinley Jones

Rosedale, VA – Thomas “Tom” McKinley Jones, age 74, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2023. He attended Honaker High School and was a graduate of Swansboro High School Class of 1967 in North Carolina. He was the owner operator of T and J Trucking Company. He was an ordained deacon and served as Sunday School Director at Swords Creek Community Baptist Church, Rosedale Baptist Church, and member of Cleveland Chiefs Men’s State Champion Softball Team.

He was preceded in death by his father: Carl Edgar Jones.

He is survived by his wife of fifty three years: Joyce Jones; daughters: Cindy Carrier and husband Chris, Beth Pike and husband TJ; son: Andy Jones; mother: Della Jones; grandchildren:  Tommy Musick and wife Maggie, Lauren Jones, Ashley Musick and husband Tyler, Luke Pike, Katie Jones, Owen Jones, Ethan Jones, and Jenna Pike; great-grandchildren:  Maddox Musick, Abbie Musick, Hunter Musick, Mason Musick; brother: Joseph Jones and wife Judith; niece: Sarah May; nephews: Michael Shepard and Jeffery Jones; along with many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike McFarlen officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Pike, Tommy Musick, Owen Jones, Ethan Jones, Michael Shepard, Jeffery Jones, Houston Vandyke, Rodney “Roho” Miller, Henry Stinson, and Larry “Zeke” Goodman.
