Rachel Jolene Skeen

Abingdon, VA – Rachel Jolene Skeen, age 50, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Born on February 20, 1972. She was a graduate of Abingdon High School Class of 1990. She was employed at Blueridge Radiology for the past twenty-three years. She loved spending time with her family and her animals.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Garland and Mary Wolfe, Odis and Jo Nunley.

Survivors include her husband: Steve Skeen; daughters: Makenzie Bishop and Brianna Bishop; parents: Larry and Brenda Nunley; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her special friend and sister-in-law: Penny Canter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Adam Wolfe officiating. The committal service will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Wyatt, Jimmy Marcum, Slade Marcum, Tyler Doss, Daniel Hunt, and Allen Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
