Phyllis Ann Austin

Phyllis Ann Austin passed away on August 25, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shade and Myrtle Lockhart Combs; sisters, Lucille Musick, Betty Musick, Linda Bostic and Lillian Breeding and stepson, David Austin; son-in-law, Dave Gillooly, and ex-husband, Jerry Austin. 

She loved to spend time with her family and loved going to church. She enjoyed working and taking care of her patients when she worked for Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens and had worked for Lebanon Apparel for 15 years. Before her illness she attended Rejoice Worship Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Sheena Hawkins and husband Brad, Sherry Daniels, Pamela Gillooly and husband Terry Hunt; son, James R. Duty and wife Diana; sisters, Verna Barton and husband L.D., Novella Hubbard and husband L.D; brother-in-law, Harold Bostic; grandchildren, Amber Leann Perry, Kristy Dawn Perry, Hannah Hawkins and fiancé, Austin Caldwell, Shane David Gillooly, Derek Evan Daniels, James Cameron Duty, Darrell Fitzgibbon and Skylar Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Addison Fitzgibbons, Tahlia Daniels, Kara Daniels, Athena Daniels, Eliana Gillooly, Livy Gillooly, Hugh David Gillooly, Easton Perry, Hudson Perry and Chandler Perry. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm, August 30, 2024, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Pastor Kenneth Johnson and Terri Ann Funk officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens in Castlewood. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm August 29, 2024, at the funeral home.

Grandsons and Chad Counts will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McCoy, Neal Johnson and L.D. Barton.
