Phyllis Artrip

Phyllis Wallace Artrip, age 86, went to be with the Lord at her home Saturday March 29, 2025. Born September 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Blanche Statzer Wallace. She loved to go to church and was a member of Weaver Creek Baptist Church for over fifty years. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Samuel C. “Choke” Artrip, two children Shanon Collins and Mark Artrip.

Survivors include her daughter: Janet Bussey and fiancé Bo Sutherland; son: Benny Artrip and wife Michelle; grandchildren: Adam Artrip and wife Beth, Brandon Artrip and wife Emily, Shawn Vance, Sarah Artrip, Nicolette Price and husband Todd, Joshua Artrip, Justin Artrip and wife Shrudi, Danielle Artrip, Jesse Artrip, Sammy Bussey, Alex Bussey; great grandchildren: Isaiah, Mason, Ella, Brooklyn, London, and Rome; brother: Eddie Wallace and wife Sue; Aunt Rosa Helton; and special friend Frances Amos; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 7pm Monday March 31, 2025, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will be at 11am on Tuesday April 1, 2025, in Ketron Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Bussey, Alex Bussey, Shawn Vance, Todd Price, Bo Sutherland, Justin Artrip and Johnny Long.
