Nancy Elizabeth Schwitzerlett

Nancy Elizabeth Schwitzerlett, age 82, of Kingsport, TN. peacefully passed away from this life into her Heavenly home on March 2, 2025. She was born on August 25, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late James and Eliza Emerson.

On August 21, 1964, Nancy married the love of her life, Walter Schwitzerlett , and together they celebrated sixty years of devoted and loving marriage. Throughout their life together, Nancy was not only a faithful minister’s wife but also a loving mother, grandmother, and a well-known and cherished owner of Kitchenette Restaurant in Lebanon, VA.

Nancy’s life was a testament to love, service and family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter; children, Darrell Schwitzerlett (Laura Ashley), Karen Schwitzerlett Ball, and Amy Lemmons (Brad); her grandchildren, Noah Schwitzerlett, Kaitlyn Lemmons, and Paiton Lemmons. She is also survived by her sister, Lottie Shorter.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during Nancy’s final days.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 2 pm in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Charles Lucas officiating. Friends may visit with the family from noon until 2 pm.  Burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brad Lemmons, Noah Schwitzerlett, T.J. Bayless, Doug Cannady, Roger Dalton and Matthew Ashley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Horsepen Church of Christ, 3353 Gratton Road, Tazewell, VA 24651.
