Gertrude Boothe

Lebanon, VA –Gertrude Boothe, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24, 2023. She enjoyed cooking and working on the farm, loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended several churches throughout her lifetime. She was the daughter of the late Kemper and Bunny McFaddin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: John Robert “Bobby” Boothe, Jr.; and her brother: Luther McFaddin.

She is survived by her daughter: Dorothy Griffith and husband Chris; son: Ernie McFaddin and wife Rita; grandchildren: Joanna Yates and husband Josh, Kayla Dye and husband John, Shaina Desplaines and husband Carl, Briana Maxfield and husband Cody; great-grandchildren: John Yates, Jacob Yates, Evelyn Dye, Lillian Dye, Nolan Dye, Eleanor Desplaines, Ian Desplaines, Lorelai Maxfield; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tim Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in the Gray Family Cemetery, Clinch Mountain Road.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Yates, John Dye, Carl Desplaines, Cody Maxfield, Danny King, and Richard Browning.
