Kathy Lynn Morefield Hincher

Kathy Lynn Morefield Hincher age 67, passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2024, at her home in Lebanon, VA. Kathy, born on March 8th, 1957, in Abingdon VA, was the loving daughter of the late Alex Morefield Jr. and Nadine Remines, loving wife to husband Mike and loving mother to son Jared. A graduate of both Southwest Virginia Community College and the University of Virginia, Kathy retired after spending 27 years as a respiratory therapist in various local hospitals where she dedicated herself to the care and well-being of each of her patients. This dedication to helping others followed Kathy into retirement where she taught therapeutic horseback riding courses and volunteered at a local food ministry. Beyond her love for family and passion for others, Kathy was known by those closest to her for her love of reading, music, nature/hiking, and her horses and animals, especially her dog Ace and her cat Stuart.

Kathy is survived by her mother Nadine Remines, husband Mike Hincher, son Jared Hincher and wife Lindsay, sister Beth Morefield and husband Alan Turner, sister-in-law Deborah Grant, brothers-in-law David (Lynn) Hincher, and Mark (Marti) Hincher, nieces Caroline Hincher, Emily (Abdul) Qadir, Samantha (Mark) Quejano and Heather (Daniel) Wray and nephews Marcus Grant, Travis (SaraBeth) Grant, Scott Hincher and Adam Turner. 

The family will receive friends from 2:30 -3:30 pm Sunday, August 4, 2024 with the funeral service to follow at 3:30 pm in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel with Rev. Wil Cantrell officiating. Interment will be private at Ketron Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jared Hincher, Chase Castle, Adam Turner, Roger Thompson, Joe Dotson, and Bobby Vincell.
