Junior Dale Morrison

Junior Dale “Sonny” Morrison, 70, of Lebanon, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday March 31, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side.  

Junior was born in Castlewood in 1953. He was an extraordinary husband, father, brother, and all-around good man who was loved deeply by so many.  He enjoyed spending his days with his family outdoors, antiquing, and taking in the mountain scenes driving through Cades Cove.  

He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother – Curtis and Frances Morrison; two sisters – Wanda Vajda, and Debbie Robins; as well as his father-in-law Jimmy Rose.  

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna (Rose) Morrison, his son Justin Dale Morrison, and his mother-in-law Lois Rose;  Six brothers – Kenneth (Lois) Morrison, Guy (Jackie) Morrison, Billy (Brenda) Morrison, Donnie (Jackie) Morrison, David (Donna) Morrison, and Bobby (Georgeanna) Morrison; five sisters – Betty (Richard) Breeding, Peggy (James) Staten, Janice (Dale) Hudson, Glenda (Scotty) Dye, and Jeanette Morrison. 

He was also survived by his brother-in-law Jimmy Rose, and sisters-in-law Teresa Bush, Karen Gordon, Kim Meade, and Tina Rose as well as numerous nephews and nieces. 

Grave Side Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday April 3, 2024, at the Morrison Family Cemetery, Castlewood, VA with Brother Rick Thompson officiating. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 PM.

Kenneth Morrison, Billy Morrison, David Morrison, Jeff Meade, Jeff Thompson, Scott Thompson, and Richard ‘Chico’ Castle will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Rose.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
