Junella B Snead

Lebanon, VA – Junella B. Snead, age 91, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Born December 14, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Dolph and Rosa Boardwine. She was a lifelong homemaker, enjoyed her flowers and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Robert Snead; brothers: William, Swanson, and John Boardwine; sisters: Roberta Price, Stella Bralley, and Irene Jones.

She is survived by her daughters: Vickie Snead Fuller of Hillsville, VA; Jane Snead Jennings and husband David of Lebanon, VA; son: James W. Snead and wife Sandi of Roanoke, VA; sister: Betty Collins and husband Lloyd of Bristol, VA; brothers: Frank Boardwine and wife Freda of Bristol, TN, Bob Boardwine and wife Carolyn of Bristol, TN; six grandchildren: Miranda Lee Fuller and husband Seth, Brent McCullen Jennings and wife Alena, Bethany Jennings Gross and husband Adam, Cassandra Fuller Clary and husband Clayton, Jessica Lynn Snead and Jonathan William Snead; great-grandchildren: Hayden James Gross, Caleb Ian Clary, Annabelle Katherine Clary, Elise Bexley Clary; brother-in-law: Edgar S. Jones of Lebanon, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Home Nursing Company, Hospice Palliative Care and to Mountain View Retirement Home where mom lived for four and a half years. Each and every one was like family to her and her family. Thanks for all the love and care provided to her.

Private graveside services for Junella B. Snead will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Ketron Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeff Kinder and Rev. Larry Burton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
