Joyce Elaine Gilbert

Cleveland, VA – Joyce Elaine Parks Gilbert, age 76, gained her angel wings November 11, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1948, to the late Raymond and Edith Payne Parks.

She was an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR, tennis basketball, and golf the most. She was a huge animal lover especially her dogs. She also loved Alan Jackson and Blake Shelton’s music. But above all she loved her family, and she was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers Ralph, Dave, and Larry. She was the last of her immediate family.

She is survived by three daughters Tammy Roman of Castlewood, VA, Cyndi Gibbons (Roy) of Decaturville, TN, AND Vickie Moats Haupt (Henry) of Cooper City, FL; one son, Mike Weber of Cleveland, VA; nine grandchildren Amanda, Natasha, Kobe, Jesse, Roger, Kacy, Waylon, Raylon, and Tyler. Twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter; numerous other family members also survive and her fur baby, Sam.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Donnie Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
