Jean B Campbell

Jean B. Campbell, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Born March 1, 1930, in Castlewood Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Arthur Purcell and Minnie Mae Price Purcell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey J. Campbell; son, Ronnie Campbell; brothers, Arthur Purcell, Clarence Purcell and sister, Anna Lorene Purcell. 

She was a member of Maple Grove Community Church. She enjoyed baking, her flowers, spending time with her family and sharing her love of cooking with those in need. She was a graduate of Temple Hill High School, Castlewood, Virginia and West Virginia Business School, Bluefield, West Virginia on September 17, 1948, from the Junior Accounting Course. 

Survivors include her children, Ted Campbell and wife Debi, Brenda Chaffin and husband Wayne, Stan Campbell and wife Lisa, Carolyn Counts and special friend Eddie Hall and Tom Campbell and wife Lou; grandchildren, Beth Artrip and husband Adam, Jesse Campbell and wife Ne’ Lea, Evan Campbell and wife Rachel and Alex Counts; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Artrip, Boone Campbell and Capri Campbell; sister, Nancy Carty. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service chapel with Bro. James Nunley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until the time of the service. Committal service will be held at 2 pm on Friday January 10, 2025, in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. 

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Eddie Hall.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Jennifer Jonkers, Russell County Hospital E.R. Staff and Amedisys Home Health and Physical Therapy.
