Blenda Louise Hartsock

Blenda Louise Hartsock, age 79, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at her home. 

Louise was born September 30, 1944, in Russell County, VA to the late George and Savanna Hurd. She was a member of Open Door Tabernacle Church, Castlewood, VA. 

Louise loved her flowers, gardening, shopping, and her beloved cat, Tom. She was a caretaker for several different people throughout the years and had worked other jobs in the community. 

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Coley Hicks and her second husband, Joe Hartsock; siblings, Bea Mullins, Agnes Horne, Charlie Hurd, Lee Hurd, Jack Hurd, and Donnie Hurd; two stepdaughters, Elaine Fraley and Jerri Crane. 

She is survived by her daughter, Allien Lane and husband, Carl; granddaughter, Lindsey Honaker and husband, Josh; great-granddaughter, Josie Honaker; sister, Mary Davis; brothers, Garland Hurd and wife, Louise, Nathan Hurd wife, Lottie, Ronnie Hurd, Roger Hurd and wife, Janice and Eddie Hurd; several nieces and nephews also survive.  

The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 7 pm in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel with Pastor Bill Salyers officiating. Interment service will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11 am in the Hicks Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral by 10:30 am to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
