Bertha Estella Couch

 Cleveland, VA – Bertha Estella Couch, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Born October 20, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Elihu and Myrtle Cantrell. Bertha loved to cook, garden, sew, quilt, and spend time with family. She taught school for three years and worked in the sewing factory until retirement. She was a member of Delphia Primitive Baptist Church for forty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John Couch; grandson: Jared Adam Couch; special companion: Jim Duty; three brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughters: Lillian “Lilly” Osborne and husband Harold, Diana Dotson and husband Charlie; sons: Faron Couch and Pam, Johnny Couch and wife Sarah; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Reece Maggard and Pastor Donnie Hobson officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Ketron Memorial Gardens, all those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:40 a.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. 

Serving as pallbearers will be her family and friends.
